Ellen Evert Hopman is a Master Herbalist, Druid Priestess, and prolific author whose work bridges Celtic spirituality, herbal wisdom and lived ritual practice. She is the author of numerous influential books, including Celtic Druidry: Rituals, Techniques and Magical Practices and The Sacred Herbs of Yule and Christmas, alongside a wide body of writing on tree lore, folk magic, seasonal practice, and the sacred Earth year.
An Archdruid Emerita and founder of Tribe of the Oak (Tuatha na Dara), Ellen has played a significant role in the modern Druid revival. She has also been involved with several Druid orders over the years, including OBOD, and is a Bard of the Gorsedd of Caer Abiri in England. Her work combines scholarship, practical guidance, and deep reverence for land and tradition.
Ellen lives in an oak forest in western Massachusetts, where her writing continues to be shaped by close relationship with plants, trees, and the turning seasons.
